We all hear the word Hard Rock and imagine strung out rock stars just giving it their all onstage. Ear bleeding head banging music and lot’s of hair!
Yet, the Hard Rock brand of resorts breaks that all down. While I had toured several Hard Rock all inclusive resorts in Mexico and Punta Cana, this was my first stay as an actual guest, and it was all I could have imagined and more!

Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Mexico was my home for 4 nights. The resort is divided into two sections. The Hacienda side, which is family friendly, and the Heaven side for adults only. Both resorts are housed on one campus and pretty much mirror each other in the room layout and amenities. With 1294 rooms, this is a sprawling resort, yet easily walkable.
The Hacienda side boasts a great waterpark for the kiddos and lot’s of activities. The kids club is there if mom and dad need a break. The Heaven side is home to the famous Club Heaven. High energy, thumping music to keep everyone dancing! This club is pretty amazing as the center of the club is a swimming pool! Dance up a storm, get sweaty and then cool down in the pool. Lifeguards are on duty should anyone over indulge and then try to swim some laps. Smart move Hard Rock! The club also hosts an outdoor late night buffet, so you can get your fill when the munchies set in.
Built in 2009, renovated in 2014, the resort is gorgeous. Rock and roll memorabilia is abundant! It’s a walk though time as you see glass cased outfits from Stevie Nicks, Mick Jagger, Elton John and stars like Justin Timberlake. Guitars, drum kits, and even Madonna’s famous poke-your-eye-out bra is on display. All this memorabilia entwined with authentic Mexican décor to create just an amazing vibe!

The two sides, make this a great option for destination wedding groups. Guests can chose either side, in keeping everyone happy! There are multiple locations on the grounds for the ceremony and the reception.
All unique. All stunning.
The beach is an eclectic blend of just about everything! There are small sandy coves that are protected by a rock reef. The rock reef offers crashing waves to fall asleep to. There are small tide pools with colorful fish. Beach diversity is at it’s best at this property. It does not have just one long white sandy beach. If you are a true sand in your toes person, who loves that expansive white beach to walk on for miles, this may not be the place for you.

Fantastic food, excellent service and premium alcohol make this resort a favorite. 24 hour room service means you never go hungry. The Rock Spa is there for your sense of wellbeing. I had an amazing aromatherapy massage!
Overall, the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya Resort gets a big thumbs up! A perfect blend of high energy, chill vibes, great food and friendly faces, all set on a gorgeous campus. I guess I just joined the Hard Rock fan club!
